Every year when I go back to my hometown during the Spring Festival, I will write an article about my experience of returning home, trying to record the various changes that the small village of Songhua Village, Wenfeng Town, Wuxi County, Chongqing City has experienced in the past year under the tide of digitalization. This is something I have been insisting on in the past few years. Looking back this year, it can be said that this small village has indeed become a beneficiary of the sinking of the Internet in recent years-from being away from the Internet and gradually being Mobile Internet penetration. The biggest feeling I have come back to my hometown this year is that the Internet infrastructure construction in my hometown, which I have been complaining about in the past few years, is accelerating, and the digital life is also accelerating. The relative inadequacy of the ability to distinguish false information in the Internet's clutter is also worrying. 1. Speed up the construction of network infrastructure If any friends have read the stories I wrote about returning home in the past few years, they will definitely remember the photo of my cousin logging on to the 4G network in the rain with an umbrella in 2017.
This is a true portrayal of the network conditions in my hometown at that time. In recent years, the network conditions in my hometown have been improving. Although 5G networks are still relatively difficult to find today, 4G networks can be used everywhere. What is even more gratifying is that the Internet broadband that I have been thinking about for several years has finally entered our small village in the past year. Now the villagers can freely choose the Internet broadband provided by the two operators, China Telecom and China Unicom. With the introduction of Internet Phone Number List broadband, of course, home WiFi has also become the standard configuration, which greatly alleviated the concerns of relatives in their hometown that they had been deducted due to insufficient SIM card data packages in the past. 2.
Further penetration of digital life The abundance of broadband traffic has also allowed short videos, mobile payments, and video chats that have been deeply penetrated before to further grow, and online shopping has also begun to explode. Among them, as a short video in another circle of friends of rural users, if last year, relatives in my hometown were only in a state of early adopters, then this year may have reached a commonly used state, which has become a way for villagers to pass their leisure time and record beauty. The first choice in life, the likes and comments data of a video will be talked about, even though the likes are all acquaintances and friends. In fact, many relatives have more friends on the short video than in the WeChat address book. In addition to short videos, another thing that is growing rapidly in this small village is online shopping, which has gradually become a choice and a habit since it was only tasted by relatives in my hometown last year. Here, the most intuitive manifestation of this change may lie in the fact that many dishes on the family reunion dinner this year were purchased online by relatives, rather than in offline shopping malls as usual.
